There are reports lodged against Line Managers/Officers forcing members to sign an “Addendum to Job Description” on an urgent basis without allowing them to check with NUBE.

The Bank did not discuss with the Union as such we do not advice members to participate. We advise you NOT TO BLINDLY SIGN any document without understanding the contents of the said document first.

Your Line Manager/Superiors will only protect their interest and are the least bothered of your job security.

By now, you must be aware by how HSBC is going all out to reduce workforce in the bank especially with the 257 jobs at the Inbound Call Centre that will be outsourced soon.

For those of you who have signed the document without exercising your rights to first understand the contents of the document, our advice to you is that you should file a grievance immediately to retract the Addendum you signed. Your grievance should indicate that you were forced to sign the document.
