Negotiations were held on 10.12.2009 and 14.1.2010. At the negotiation meeting 10 of the following Articles were agreed and signed by both parties i.e. MCBA/NUBE:-
- Article: Effective date and duration
- Article: Modification & Termination
- Article: Recognition of the bank
- Article: Notice board
- Article: Promotion
- Article: Termination of Employment
- Article: Public holidays
- Article: Sick leave
- Article: New System/Technology
- Article: Implementation
Thereafter, both parties MCBA and NUBE began negotiations on the other Articles by respectively explaining the changes proposed. We have negotiated till the Article on Medical Benefits.
MCBA has requested to revert with a response on the proposals discussed.
In the meantime, members are advised to extend their cooperation to the leadership of NUBE to conclude the Collective Agreement successfully.
Please beware of certain selfish individuals who are working hand in hand with some banks, attempting to sabotage the negotiations by sending flyers/signature campaigns etc. Let us not be distracted by these individuals instead focus your attention on NUBE, in the best interest of the 30,000 members and our livelihood.
