We met MCBA over the MCBA/NUBE Collective Agreement (CA) Negotiation on 10.2.2010. The remaining Articles Maternity right up to Implementation were discussed with the both parties giving their respective justifications.
Whilst MCBA agreed to revert on the other Articles, 3 very important achievements were agreed in this round of negotiations, they are:
- Child care subsidy under Article 25 (7) of the CA.
· Since 1997 only our fellow ladies benefited from this;
· MCBA agreed that in this CA the subsidy will be paid to ALL EMPLOYEES, including the men.
2. Employment Injury under Article 35 of the CA
· MCBA agreed that in this CA the banks will provide a Term Life Insurance cover for natural death amounting to RM 30,000.00.
· We requested MCBA to also consider increasing the quantum of the Accident cover.
· Banks providing better benefits will continue to do so.
- Exclusion
· MCBA agreed that in this CA those who “resign” from the bank will also be entitled for the arrears of salary once the CA is signed.
The next Negotiations will be held in March 2010 and you will be informed of the developments.
For now, we trust you will continue to extend your fullest support and cooperation to the leadership of NUBE to conclude the Collective Agreement successfully.
We continue to remind you to be cautious of the selfish individuals loitering around attempting to sabotage NUBE and the negotiations by spreading lies/rumours daydream that NUBE members will be troubled and distracted.
NUBE members cannot be fooled this way. Let us stay focused on NUBE, to improve our livelihood. If you need any clarification on the above, kindly contact your NUBE branch officials.
