During this Covid-19 pandemic, we realise that we have more time to ourselves compared to before the pandemic, when we were obsessed with the rat race, an endless competition in our pressured working life.
Some of us work from home, some of us work in office, some of us stay at home while some are quarantined.
During this period, we have time to reflect upon ourselves as to whether we have spent the time given to us wisely or wastefully.
We are fortunate to have the freedom to make our own choices.
Let me illustrate:
1. If every day, RM86,400.00 is deposited into our bank account and we can spend it as we wish.
2. Daily before midnight, the bank will withdraw the balance money which is unspent money as it will not be carried forward to next day.
Sounds great isn’t it!
What could we do?
We may spend the money lavishly, buy all what we could not buy before, may share with others, with such an opportunity, we may spend every Ringgit to maximise the opportunity we have every day or we may invest.
Believe it or not, we have something similar, not Money, it’s Time.
1. Every day, we are given 86,400 brand-new seconds to spend it as we see it fit.
2. We have to spend the 86,400 seconds today. Tomorrow it will be gone, as come midnight the unspent time will be cancelled and tomorrow is not a promise.
Therefore, we must live and value every second of the present moment wisely.
Every second given to us should be spent wisely by learning new knowledge, upskilling or retraining. Not forgetting, devote quality time with family, friends, colleagues, customers and God, to build positive thoughts and to do good.
Dear friends, let us not allow the priceless present time to go to waste as we cannot recover it.
Let us be wise, love our precious life as we have only one life.
Let us live it meaningfully; it would be a tragedy to waste it.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all” – Oscar Wilde.
