KUALA LUMPUR, 1 September: MBSB Bank Berhad seeks to strengthen its position in the financial sector on the back of a better financing climate, and also by "partnering with NUBE to provide some financial assistance to the workers to ease their financial burdens".
Group Chief Executive Officer MBSB Bank Berhad, YBhg Datuk Nor Azam M. Taib said that "a significant part of our growth strategy is to offer a broader range of financial products and services with the aim of creating a positive social impact via financial inclusion and responsible financing which are components of the larger sustainable development agenda."
"At this juncture, I also wish touch upon MBSB Bank's role in partnering with NUBE to provide some financial assistance to the workers to ease their financial burdens to focus on their roles in the Banks," he said.
He said this in his opening speech at the Third NUBE Conference, 2022 in Kuala Lumpur on 30 August 2022.
YBhg Datuk Nor Azam added that a big part of our growth agenda will be fulfilling our role as an Islamic financial institution in safeguarding and empowering our communities via implementation of responsible financing practices and financial inclusion.
"... and this is where we see an opportunity for synergy and collaboration with NUBE," he said further.
"We understand that NUBE members may potentially be disproportionally impacted by financial hardship, and we would like to ease the financial burden of NUBE members by offering more accessible loan and payment deferment assistance should the need arise."
He added that MBSB Bank is not only able to provide one of the lowest personal financing rates among local banks for all NUBE members, which will enable consolidation of any outstanding loans and to restructure a more sustainable repayment scheme but also wish to take a step further by ensuring that individual workers have access to appropriate financial advice built upon our promise of financial inclusion via implementation of literary programs through capacity building and knowledge sharing.
