In his closing remarks, Bro J Solomon, KLSP Chairman and NUBE General Secretary graced KLSP TGM shared his thoughts on the recently concluded 19th MCBA/NUBE CA.
He said that a MOA for Festival Aid of one month salary for members was also historically concluded whereby the payment will be reviewed the following year.
Solomon placed on record NUBE’s appreciation to MCBA for their role in the successful conclusion of the 19th MCBA/NUBE Collective Agreement.
However, said Solomon one day after the signing, a premiere bank reneged the agreement which is disappointing, and we hope the said Bank will correct its position so that it does not undermine the spirit of the MCBA/NUBE CA and MOA which was the hard work of both the negotiating parties.
The intention of NUBE is to unite the workforce in the banking sector so that the workforce will be productive without rooms for any party to discriminate and manipulate innocent workers to cater for certain individuals’ interest.
Solomon added that NUBE hopes the said Bank will come to its senses, carry out their roles and do not interfere in the establishment and administration of the Union by breeding any form of union busting tactics.
Solomon thanked KLSP Branch Committees, IRCs, KLSP members for extending their moral support and confidence to the leadership in concluding a significant CA and administering the Branch. He took the opportunity to advise all members to carry out our duties and responsibilities with dignity at the workplace to ensure NUBE members remain highly respected.
