Why join NUBE ?
NUBE is your trade union, established as a legal entity under the Trade Union Act 1959. As a member, you belong to a caring fraternity of bank workers committed to fighting for better conditions and prospects for each member of the Union. NUBE is a non-profit organization.
The main goal of NUBE, Malaysia's third largest union, is to improve the working lives of its 22,000 or so members in banking and financial institutions of Peninsular Malaysia. It has a track record of serving, protecting and providing for its members within the industry for over 50 years. When you are facing a problem at your work place, as a member of NUBE, you are never alone. Every other NUBE member stands in solidarity with you and will fight for you. As a NUBE member, you have the right to vote, provided you regularly pay your monthly dues to the union and are not in arrears.
What is union subscription ?
- A union subscription is a monthly fee payable to the NUBE head office by every member.
- Every member pays 1% of his or her salary as union subscription of which RM3 will be paid into the Benevolent Fund.
- A member who defaults in his payment for more than three months becomes a defaulter and loses his or her right to vote, as well as all other Union services and benefits.

- Union representation at workplace, industrial relations and court.
- Negotiations on your behalf for for better salaries and conditions at your work place, including your health and safety protection.
- A range of other non-work related member benefits such as frequent social activities that include you and your family. Other benefits include personal finance, insurance coverage, and the opportunity to participate in exchange or study programmes abroad, among others.
How do I join ?
- Joining NUBE is easy and inexpensive. All you have to do is
- Decide your category i.e. clerical or non-clerical.
- Once you know your category, simply fill in the membership application form.
- Get two of Inter-Relations Committee members at your work place to sign as witnesses on your membership application form.
- Ensure that you have signed at the bottom of the form.
- Get a Cashier Order or Personal Cheque for the appropriate membership fee. New members pay 1% of their last drawn salary as subscription; an entrance fee of RM5; union badge RM5; and building fund RM2.
- Hand over the form and the cheque to your nearest NUBE Branch.
