UPDATE ONE: As of 6.14pm this evening HSBC has updated its Twitter account to inform its customers online banking is now working as normal.

The bank said: "Some customers are experiencing problems using Online Banking. We are investigating and will provide further updates.

HSBC has been responding to customers that have been unable to access its online functionality.
Although the bank has admitted its online banking service is not currently working, it appears HSBC's website is also currently not working too.
A number of customers have taken to Twitter to question why they are unable to access the bank's site.
One said: "HSBC UK is your website down? I cannot load the page."
Another posted: "HSBC website is completely down - it has been down for at least 30 minutes.
"I called the customer service team and they were not even aware of this.
"I hope this is being fixed ASAP!"
A third declared: "I can’t access banking.
"Frustrating when time is limited! Not very professional."
