(Penang 15th) More than 200 HSBC Penang staff and Bank of Malaysia Staff Union (NUBE), etc., staged a peaceful demonstration in front of HSBC Bank in Queensbay this morning, asking employers to face their demands.
The demonstrations will be held in various states of the country. After the recent meeting in Kuala Lumpur, the second stop this morning will come to Penang.
Chen Ronghuang, chairman of the Malaysian Bank Staff Union, pointed out that after the employee contract expired in 2017, after the high-level negotiations with HSBC, the employer was only willing to raise the salary by 10% and the employee was required to raise the salary by 30%.
He said that the second appeal is that the health environment of HSBC's Kuala Lumpur headquarters is harsh; there are mice; and even a small fire has occurred because the wires have not been replaced for a long time.
He also said that he had submitted a memorandum to the Finance Minister Lin Guanying on August 16. but the other party has not responded so far.
Two hours after the demonstrations in front of HSBC, the demonstrations ended peacefully at 11:00 this morning.
