The following are the 9 issues against HSBC:
1. Dishonoured an Agreement
2. Stoping medical reimbursements
3. Reducing health screening
4. No more annual increments for senior workers
5. Robbing the bonuses of workers
6. Forcing workers to work in unhygienic condition
7. Forcing staff to defy BNM policy
8. Changing designation of workers without their consent.
9. Imposing attires on workers.
The Hon Minister further suggested that we put on hold all forms of industrial actions so that he could resolve the matters out of court for maintaining Industrial harmony in the financial sector.
On 4th March 2019
HSBC CEO Mr. Stuart Milne who is a British national, in the cause of the dispute with NUBE refused to meet the Hon. Minister and rejected his invitation for the meeting.
Ironically, he did show disrespect to the Hon Minister by sending a low ranking moron officer who was the cause of the dispute with NUBE.
Before it became a dispute, it is also worth to note that Mr. CEO of HSBC also refused to meet the officials of NUBE for a social dialogue to resolve the dispute.
The conduct of the CEO was arrogant in nature and he displayed disrespect to the government and the people of Malaysia.
In this regard we understood that the management of HSBC promotes ancient barbarism in our country.
NUBE will resume its industrial action against HSBC management until the CEO is deported back to his country of origin and the disputes are resolved holistically.
NUBE does not allow anyone to exploit our workers and especially the women workers who comprises the majority from the category of workers in dispute.
NUBE is an organisation which always stands with the marginalised workers and will continue its fight against discriminations and atrocities to the employees
