Edition 1 - Stuart Milne – World’s Local Fraudster!
Friday | 12 April 2019
HSBC Bank CEO Stuart Milne held a town hall meeting on 3rd April, 2019 and in this Town Hall he claimed that he absolutely respected the union and his desire was always to have a productive and effective relationships with Unions everywhere HSBC Bank operated; his exact words were ”I say mutual respect”. He even went further to say the “relationship should be based on trust”.
In this Edition, we will discuss about his purported claim of “mutual respect” and in regards to ‘trust’ we shall deal with it in our next edition. Stuart Milne’s statement was a blatant lie! It was false and meant to mislead. It was to cover up his failure to uphold good corporate behavior as the CEO of the HSBC. Since he began his employment in Malaysia, Stuart Milne was the man who destroyed the “mutual respect” between HSBC Bank and NUBE.
On his appointment as CEO, NUBE sent a congratulatory letter dated 23rd May, 2018 and sought an appointment for a courtesy call with the intension of building up a cordial working relationship. We even suggested tentative dates as well but there was NO response from him. After two months, NUBE asked his secretary and her response was that she never received our email communication. We took it in the right spirit, reconfirmed the email ID with her and sent her the very same letter on 3rd July, 2018. Again, she claimed that she did not receive the e-mail. We then hand delivered the said letter. Surprisingly, again no response but we get an email from Head, Industrial & Employee Relations, stating that Stuart Milne instructed him to deal with the NUBE on Union related matters.
In fact, to date Stuart Milne never accommodated NUBE for a courtesy call not replied our emails/letter. It is noteworthy to mention that despite his refusal to meet the Union even for a courtesy call, we still sought his intervention on the dispute created by his subordinate which again, he just ignored.
Therefore his claim to have the ‘desire to have a productive and effective relationships with Unions’ is an utter lie and nothing but a fraudulent statement. Stuart Milne not only lied and made fraudulent statements at the town hall meeting but he also blatantly deceived the entire workforce of HSBC Bank Malaysia. Therefore, he has no morale right to speak about “mutual respect”.
Integrity in the banking industry is of paramount importance. Stuart Milne has deceived all of HSBC Bank Malaysia workers and we call upon all workers to reject such fraudster.
Thank you.
One for all and all for one
