The highlight of the Dialogue with NUBE Hon. General Secretary and NUBE KLSP Chairman, Bro J Solomon’s was “trust deficit”.
Bro Solomon emphasized that trust has become a scarce societal resource. This isn’t a recent problem and the decline of trust has been a steady downward march in Malaysia towards a much less trustful, environment. This trust deficit in society has reared its ugly head in NUBE’s relationship with HSBC. The lack of trust in the relationship simply means that the workers in the B40 category are the ones who will suffer from HSBC’s actions.
NUBE has declared a “trade dispute” with HSBC and shall take such industrial action as deemed necessary to protect the rights of the lower income groups within HSBC.
Bro Solomon motivated the participants to rise up and stand for workers’ rights.
The members present concurred with NUBE and pledged to stay united to fight for rights at their workplace to save jobs for Malaysians.
