1 Nov 2020 - We are pleased to announce that MCBA has responded favourably to our request for extension of 3 months blanket moratorium, as some banks, have offered the extension with or without conditions upon request from NUBE members.
For those members who do not qualify for the conditional extension of the moratorium set by the Banks, you may still appeal for an extension of three months moratorium provided, you have difficulties in managing your finance under the current prevailing conditions.
We are fully aware that the normal cost of living has increased in view of the pandemic. Additional costs are also being incurred by our members with the new norms and the need to be in compliance of the SOP introduced by the authorities.
There are those who may have lost your additional income such as overtime. In addition, some of your family members may have lost their income which would have affected your household income greatly.
We do not want to see you and your family suffer in silence in handling your finances for this will affect your immune system and you could become more vulnerable to the Covid19 virus.
In view of the above, we advise our members to write to your Banks detailing your difficulties in managing your current finances, so that an extension of three months is obtained.
We do not want NUBE members to be subjected to additional mental trauma which you and your families are currently facing in this pandemic crisis.
If you have any difficulties in any Banks granting your request for extension, please bring to the attention of NUBE and we will try to put forward your predicament to the Banks to accommodate your appeal.
For those of you who do not have any financial difficulties, please proceed with your instalments so that only genuinely needy members would find relief during this pandemic crisis.
Moving forward, we hope the Malaysian Government will extend the moratorium for six months for M40 and B40 in the 2021 budget.
