Datuk Kamaruddin bin Taib Son of Tan Sri Taib Haji Andak is 65 years old, currently the Chairman of the Board of HSBC Bank Malaysia.
He holds several positions as Board of Directors of more than 10 companies and is also the Chairman of GHL Systems Berhad. His qualification is Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, University of Salford, UK.
Shame on Datuk Kamaruddin Taib by bringing shame to his father Tan Sri Taib Haji Andak and his family by robbing the poor despite accumulating vast wealth.
Based on the BNM Policy Document of Corporate Governance the Board Chairman of HSBC Bank Malaysia main responsibilities inter alia:
1. To ensure HSBC Bank is manged in a sound and prudent manner, with due regard to the interests of depositors, policy owners and participants.
2. Required to adopt a code of ethics that promotes ethical, prudent and professional behaviour and a transparent whistleblowing policy,
3. Maintain a record of breaches of the code of ethics and address such breaches by upholding high standards of integrity
4. The remuneration of each Director and the staff of the Bank is approved annually.
Unfortunately, The Chairman has failed in his basic responsibilities and even robbed the 4 years wages of B40 and M40 workers. He approves union busting by his management which is the most demeaning action of a Board Chairman who breaches the basic policy of Corporate Governance of BNM.
BNM must sack Datuk Kamaruddin bin Taib before 1HSBC replaces 1MDB.
