PORT DICKSION, 8 July:
Around 30 members of the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) participated in the Certified Sleep Recovery & Management Assessor Course for the last 2 days, which emphasised on improving employees productivity via enhancing cognitive tools of participants through importance of quality and consistent sleep.
Besides the improvement of productivity, this programme also helps employees on reducing medical claims, mental health issues, physical health issues, absenteeism, presentism, industrial accidents, commuting accidents and the risk of COVID-19 and other viruses.
The programme, held in collaboration with HRD Corp and Alpha International Training & Consultancy, was developed with the well-being of employees in mind as employees are catalysts of productivity.
About 50% of these courses focused on practical sessions which also includes mindfulness on sleep on how to wind down, calming oneself, reducing worriedness, breathing techniques, etc as many participants find it hard to sleep off when they go to bed.
HRD Corp has classified this program under HRD Corp Signature Programmes via Levy Deduction mode. This is to ensure the process of approval for employers is much easier compared to the normal HRDCORP Claimable courses.
This is a Productivity & Safety Certification Program via Advancing Business Education, United Kingdom (ABE UK), an Ofqual regulated awarding organization. Ofqual qualifications are similar to MQA in Malaysia, and participants will also be awarded with certificate from Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom (IOSH, UK).
NUBE would like to thank the banks who has also played a role in ensuring that this course becomes a reality, thus helping NUBE members follow an important and necessary course in a workplace like this.
This is the second batch and NUBE will continue to organize courses like this in the future.
Participants who receive a certificate are eligible to supervise interested members in the future.
