The MTUC Triennial Delegates Conference on 29 and 30 November 2016 is crucial for the future of workers and trade unionism. The leaders elected will serve for the coming three (3) years – at an important time for the economy and workers of Malaysia.
The Halim-Solomon team will be contesting against the incumbents and the objective of the Halim-Solomon team is to shape the MTUC to fight for the rights of workers and trade unions in Malaysia. Many issues need addressing such as anti-labor legislation, union busting, reducing real income levels and rising income inequality.
Halim is a veteran unionist and is the General Secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Chemical Industry Workers (NUPCIW). He has held various positions within MTUC over the years and is very knowledgeable of the workings of the machinery. Solomon is the General Secretary of the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE), and is known to have taken on many difficult battles for the benefit of NUBE members and Malaysian workers. Halim and Solomon are committed to working together and would be complemented by a strong team who will be contesting for the other positions. Together, the team will have the right balance to create a strong and vibrant MTUC.
The Halim-Solomon team is Perseverant, Resilient and Diligent!!
Long Live MTUC!! Long Live Workers!!
